Like most forestry measuring tapes, this model features a small pin at the end of the tape. The pin lets you secure the tape to the wood or bark of a trunk, either by hooking it in place or gently pressing it into the surface, to measure the desired length before cutting. A quick tug releases the hook, and the spring-loaded tape retracts automatically, making accurate one-person measuring easy.
